We would like to congratulate our education mentors, Mr Linus Lin, Ms Ho and Ms Jayme as well as our accredited educator, Mr Hong Guang for successfully achieving 8 'A's distinctions in English, Literature, Pure Physics, Pure Chemistry, E-maths and A-maths.
The objective we hope to achieve is to keep ourselves relevant to the difficulty level of the actual exam questions and its questioning style while exposing ourselves to the actual examination stress so that we can really understand what our students are going through.
Among us, Ms Ho, who has been attempting O level English and Literature papers for the past 5 years believes that the Oral exam component, which contributes to 20% of the entire English exam results is the make or break factor for students in achieving a distinction in English Language.
Mr Linus, who last sat for the O Level Exam 20 years ago in 1996, enjoyed the entire process, especially the Practical Exams. The veteran Science educator who has been teaching O level theoretical Physics and Chemistry for the past 15 years strongly urges students not to take the SPA Practical Exam lightly as it is the determining factor to scoreing an A1 as it contribute to 20% of the entire exam.
Jayme, previously an auditor with Ernst & Young, and Hong Guang, a recipient of the Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in Mathematics in NTU in 2014, were both determined to score full mark for both Math papers. They realised that the difficulty level have increased since the last time they both sat for their O Level Exam.
After attempting the O Level Exam in 2015, our educators shared their experiences with groups of parents in November and December 2015 with the goal of spreading awareness regarding the latest changes in the way the exam questions were set. They also shared their insights on how parents could also play a role in guiding their children to prepare for their own upcoming O Level Exam.
