Project for Hope 2015 Gala
Global Village for Hope(GVH) invited LTH to attend Project for Hope 2015 Gala event held at Zouk Singapore on June 24th. One of our partners, Boo Cheng Zong, attended this event to find out more about the severity of the water crisis in the world, as well as understand more about the ongoing efforts to alleviate this crisis.
The Gala event was organised by a group of youths from Victoria Junior College in collaboration with Charity: Water and sponsors. They are a group of young enterprising who stepped out of their comfort zones to run such an event. Our team from LTH believes that this group of individuals have definitely learnt a lot, especially in the areas of Life Skills such as communication, team management and leadership.
Earlier in June 2015, GVH successfully completed a project to provide clean water for a village in Myanmar by collaborating with local partners to construct a well, thereby providing clean underground water for the inhabitants, who previously had to consume water from polluted water sources.
Our partner got the opportunity to interact with Christoph Gorder, Chief Global Water Officer from Charity: Water. Christoph and our partner discussed about water projects that Charity: Water has undertaken, as well as how GVH can scale its projects to bring more help to those who are vulnerable to the water crisis.
LTH hopes that GVH and Charity: Water will be able to successfully impact more lives through their programmes, and that more youths will step up, contribute and in the process, gain valuable experience and Life Skills as well.
